Trampoline Safety Guide
As a supplier of family trampolines, srbWorld is committed to ensuring the safe use of your trampoline in the garden. All of the srbWorld trampolines, whether own-branded srbWorld or stand alone brands, are supplied with a comprehensive user and assembly guide for installation and safety. We recommend that you follow these guidelines to reduce the risk of accidents.
At srbWorld we are proud to promote healthy and active play.
Trampolines, through fun, can equal good quality aerobic exercise. They also have the advantage of encouraging children to play outside in the fresh air. In addition, a trampoline can also help with your child’s balance, co-ordination and spatial awareness and all of this in the safety of your own garden.
Please bear in mind, however, that a garden trampoline should not be used to perform acrobatics. If your child wants to learn more about trampoline skills, we recommend that they attend a local club where a professional can supervise them. If your child is already a member of a trampoline club, it is worth seeking the advice of their coach or teacher as to what moves can safely be performed on the trampoline that you have purchased.
To get the most out of your trampoline we suggest you follow the safety tips briefly highlighted below:
-
Choose the right trampoline for your requirements. Our buying guide can help you with this, but the sort of things you need to consider is the size of your garden and what you acutally want to the trampoline for. For example, do you want it for just a bit of fun in the garden or is it to pursue a sports interest.
-
Assemble the trampoline in accordance with the instructions. In particular, make sure the safety enclosure is correctly fitted.
-
Position the trampoline on a flat soft or grassy surface. Avoid patio's, tarmac or other hardcore surfaces and do not be tempted to place your trampoline on a gradient, however slight it may be.
-
Allow a minimum safety zone of 2.5 metres around the trampoline and check for overhanging objects such as branches and washing lines.
-
Supervise young children when on the trampoline.
-
To reduce the risk of unwanted accidents limit use to one child at a time if possible.
-
For added peace of mind use a safety enclosure, but ensure that it is well maintained.
-
Don’t allow children to crawl under the trampoline whilst it is being used. Trampoline Skirts are one way of stopping this, however, they can also prevent a parent spotting a child who is particularly determined to climb under it!
-
Carry out regular inspections of your garden trampoline for signs of breakage or stress. Retain your instructions or assembly manual and ensure you follow any maintenance regime set out in it.
-
Ensure children climb on and climb off the trampoline. A trampoline ladder can ensure they are not tempted to launch themselves onto the grass, or into a paddling pool.
